Beyond its celebrity residents, the facility champions education and advocacy with innovative programs such as the BayCare Kids Check Up Exhibit, which engages families in learning about animal health, and unique encounters, all while showcasing native Florida species and recent rescues including four non-releasable rough-toothed dolphins in their state-of-the-art habitat. Dare to Care Food Bank leads our community to feed the hungry and conquer the cycle of need. We fulfill this mission through innovative programs, efficient operations and by partnering with local food pantries, shelters and kitchens to get food to people in need.

Dare to Care partners with local social service agencies, such as food pantries, shelters and emergency kitchens to distribute food to our community. In the past year, Dare to Care and our partners provided 19.6 million meals to our community.

Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.

Waterfowl conservation is facing important challenges as wetlands and other habitats are being degraded and destroyed across the continent. Ducks Unlimited has a vision to reverse this trend.

Ride & Run with the Stars is a holiday fundraising event initiated by the members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in order to provide food, clothing and toys for underprivileged and/or crime-stricken children and families.

The “Ride” began in 1993, at Fort DeSoto Park, and has been held there on the first Saturday in December ever since. There are cycling and running events, food as well as special activities for children, such as a rock climbing wall, free bike rodeo, and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves in the Pinellas County Sheriff’s helicopter. It’s an event that the children big and small cherish each and every year.

The “Ride” is the largest law enforcement organized holiday charity fundraiser in the Tampa Bay area and has raised over $450,000 in donations and proceeds. The Sheriff and staff of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office appreciate your participation and donations to this very worthy community event.
